Bali Travel Guide by Luke DuBose
Rice terraces, jungle temples, surf breaks, and clifftop sunsets. I’ll help you choose the right parts of Bali so your trip feels restful, not rushed.
Bali is bigger and more varied than most people expect, and traffic means where you stay shapes the whole trip. Ubud feels nothing like Uluwatu, and East Bali feels like a different island entirely. I’m Luke DuBose, and I design personalized itineraries that pair the right bases with your style, whether that is yoga and rice fields, surf and sunsets, or a little of everything.

Best for: wellness travelers, surfers, couples and honeymooners, slow travelers.

Logistics & Tips
Entry
Many visitors, including US citizens, can get a visa on arrival or apply for an e-VOA online before the trip. Check current rules for your passport.
Tourist Levy
Bali charges international visitors a one-time tourist levy. You can pay it online in advance through the official Love Bali system.
Getting Around
Hire a private driver for sightseeing days. Grab and Gojek work for short trips. Only ride a scooter if you are experienced and properly licensed.
Plan for Traffic
Short distances can take a long time. Choose fewer bases and group sights by area.
Nyepi
On the Balinese Day of Silence, usually in March, the whole island shuts down for 24 hours, including the airport. Check the date before booking.
Temple Etiquette
Cover shoulders and knees and wear a sarong when required. Drink bottled or filtered water, not tap water.
